Wilma Thurman

Wilma J. Roberts Thurman, 88, of Eubank, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 at Cumberland Nursing & Rehab.

She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on February 27, 1935; daughter of the late Carl W.  and Dora B. (Moore) Roberts. She worked as a garment worker for a number of years. 

She is survived by three daughters-in-law, Sheila Thurman of Somerset, Rhonda Thurman of Eubank, and Becky Thurman of Vaughtridge; two sisters-in-law, Grace Hougland of Indiana and Hazel Dick of Science Hill; eight grandchildren, Angie, Shane, Misty, Michael, Jarred, Austin, Tyler, and Jackie; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kaleb, Kamryn, Sarahbeth, Tessa, Hunter, Haydon, Logan, Lillie, Ryan, Riley, Jasper, Lainey, Henley, Tucker, Kynlee, Taylor, Morgan, and Roselynd; and great-great-grandchildren, Xander, Lawson, Colter, Bennie, Jackson, Alexander, Gracie, & Braxton.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bennie Thurman, who passed away on March 7, 2023; three sons, Bennie D., Donald R., and Carl D. Thurman; and siblings, Harold Roberts, Jenny Hart, Mary Ellen Godbey, Dean Stringer, Myrtle Roberts, Garnet Hines, Mildred Cash, and James Roberts. 

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Robbins and Allen Blackwell officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Monday, November 27, 2023, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
