Wilma Joyce Florence

Wilma "Joyce" (Ping) Florence of Somerset, Kentucky, died peacefully November 24, 2023 surrounded by loved ones.

Joyce was born in 1954, to Geneva and Roy Ping and is preceded in death by her loving parents and older brother, Clinton. She left behind cherished memories that will be treasured by all that knew and loved her.

Joyce was a dedicated educator and caregiver who selflessly served with limitless patience and understanding, leaving a lasting mark on countless lives. She approached each day with a genuine care for others, and her warmth and compassion created a welcoming space for everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

She is survived by her sons, James Poynter (Kelly), Barry Poynter (Savannah) and daughter, Amanda Farley (Zac) with five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren to keep her memory alive. Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those she nurtured and the generations she influenced.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Eden Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
