William "Bill" Whitis

William "Bill" Whitis, 92, of Eubank, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at the Fair Oaks Health and Rehabilitation in Russell Springs.

He was born January 3, 1931 in Towanda, Illinois; son of the late William Thomas & Eva Mae (Edwards) Whitis. He worked as a machine repairman and was a member of the Eubank Church of Christ. Bill was a United States Navy Veteran.

He is survived by his children, Jonetta Sue Withers of Russell Springs, Mary Denise Cassada of Somerset; six grandchildren, Roy Withers, Amy Vaught, Kasey Withers, Lonny Chaney, William "Billy" Chaney, and Sheree Bihn; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosemary (Taylor); and siblings, Verl Bishop Whitis, Jerry McCarther Whitis, James Whitis, Russell V. Whitis, Gladys Moughler, Ruby Cundiff, and Maxine Harrison.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 4, 2023, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Private burial for the immediate family will follow at the Union Church of Christ Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
