Walter Dee Smith

Walter Dee Smith, 86, of Somerset passed away Monday, July 18, 2022 at Somerwoods Nursing.

He was born October 12, 1935 in Pulaski County; son of the late Doolin & Flossie (Wesley) Smith. He worked as a painter and was a member of the Science Hill Nazarene Church. He was a United States Navy Veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Blaine, Jordan, & Shannon Smith; two daughters, Sherry White and Deanna Fleming; three brothers, Franky, Paul, & Warren Smith; three sisters, Christine Dodson, Mary Wesley, & Betty Dodson; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Christian Smith.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Arlene (Gilbert) Smith, to whom he was married until her passing on March 22, 2004; his second wife, Rebecca Smith; three brothers, Harry, Joe, & Robert Smith; and three sisters, Geneva Isabelle, Gladys Smith, & Audrey Acey.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Gatton officiating.

Burial will be in McKinney Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Friday, July 22, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
