Violet Lillian Dick

November 2, 1932 — December 10, 2017

Violet Lillian Dick, 85, of Somerset, Kentucky, formerly of Eubank, passed peacefully from her Earthly home to her Heavenly home on Sunday, December 10, 2017. She leaves behind family and friends to mourn her passing, but also to celebrate her arrival in Heaven. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was active in church, teaching young children and making a difference in their lives. She was also active in other church activities until health issues prevented her from attending. She was a long time member of McKinney Baptist Church, also attending Campground Baptist. She was a strong Christian example to everyone that knew her and anyone that she met. She was born in Mt. Zion, Kentucky on November 2, 1932, daughter of the late Joe and Myrtle Vaught Baugh. She was united in marriage to Lilburn "Lib" James Dick on July 8, 1949. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before his death in October of 2009. They were blessed with six children: Diane & (Garry) Greer of Eubank, Connie Daulton of Somerset, Terry & (Linda) Dick of London, KY, Vickie & (David) Durham of Waynesburg, KY, Carol Murphy & (Johnny Patterson) of Somerset and Doug & (Julie) Dick of Somerset. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, Scott Greer, Randy & (Brandy) Greer, Julie & (Eric) Hillman, Ben Daulton, Andrew Daulton, Crystal Dick, Josh Dick, Patrick & (Jill) Durham, Kelly & (Chris) Carrigan, Kevin & (Susan) Dick, Kendra & (Josh) Mounce, Tayler Dick, Katie Dick, eight great-grandchildren, whom she adored, Bella Greer, Avery and Amelia Hillman, Miles Durham, Carter Carrigan, Caroline and Cameron Mounce and Grayson Patterson, one brother, James Ralph & Dorothy) Baugh, several nieces and nephews. She also had three very special caregivers: April Cornett, Sandy Brown and Anna Clines.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lib, her parents, Joe and Myrtle Baugh, her brothers, Chester Ray Baugh and Rue Baugh, sister, Lois Baugh, sisters-in-law, Christine Baugh and Iva Baugh, father and mother-in-law, Killis and Vada Dick, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois & (Sam) Harmon, brother-in-law, Roy Dick and one great-grandchild, Aubrey Patton.A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Reynolds and Bro. Barry Vaught officiating.Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be after 6 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
