Una Ferrell Farmer, of Bobtown Kentucky, enjoyed 91 years here on earth before going home to her Lord on April 27, 2018. She was born in Pulaski County on Nov. 28, 1926 to the late Alva and Mollie Ferrell. Ms. Farmer was widely known and celebrated as an Educator here in Pulaski County. After graduating high school as Valedictorian, she began her career at just 19 years old as a teacher in a one room school house. While teaching and raising a family, she continued her own education, eventually earning a Masters degree from Eastern Kentucky University. After 46 years of service, she retired to pursue her second love, farming, full time. Those friends and neighbors who knew her best would say that even beyond her 90th birthday, she was most likely to be found on her John Deere, feeding her cows, working in her strawberries, or mowing her beautiful farm. Ms. Farmer had a gift for focusing on the beauty in things, both people and nature. In fact, this is why she is so loved by all who knew her, especially her beloved family and her friends at Bethel Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Boyce Farmer who she married in June 1946, and a brother, Albert D. Ferrell. She leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Sharon (Landis) Reece of Bobtown, a sister, Ilsa Trivett of Clayon Indiana, two granddaughters; Natasha (Wayne) Craft of Bobtown and Autumn (Katie Williams) Reece of Louisville and six great-grandchildren; Chloe, Michael, Rachael, and Eli Craft of Somerset and Samuel and Andrew Reece of Louisville.A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro.
