Timothy John “Chico” Hershberger Hicks, 48, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away at 5:00 AM
on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland in the Lake Cumberland Regional
Hospital.
He was born December 28, 1971 in Dayton, Ohio. Tim graduated from Pulaski County High
School in Somerset, graduated with a Culinary Arts Degree at the Fort Lauderdale Culinary
School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and enjoyed a career as an excellent truck driver. Tim was an
out-going person, well-liked by those he knew and never met a stranger. He had an amazing
smile, gave great big hugs, and had a big laugh. He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, “trade
& barter,” hunting, camping, loved animals (Miss Kittie, Lionel, Cocoa), enjoyed spending time
with friends, and was in Boy Scouts as a youth (one step from making “Eagle Scout”). Tim loved
his family and was, in turn, loved by a host of family and friends.
Tim is remembered with love by his parents Donald C. and JoAnne (Buell) Hicks of Somerset;
Anthony Wayne and Brenda Hershberger of Centerville, Ohio; a daughter from his first
marriage with Mamie Marie (Boston) Hicks, Brittany Nicole Hicks & (Clinton Ray) Morris of
Somerset; a son from his second marriage with Amanda (Muse) Hicks Morgan, McKinley Jay
Hicks of Somerset; two grandchildren, Alianna Marie Grace Walker and Reagan Kennedy
Morris, both of Somerset; a brother, Richard Wayne & (Donna) Hicks of Somerset; a sister,
Angela Lynn & (Clinton Ray) Bray of Somerset; and a sister, Molly Patton of Germantown, Ohio.
Affectionally remembered by Brenda Montgomery, Tammy Carnes and a host of other special
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mamie Marie (Boston) Hicks; grandparents John and
Susie (Saylor) Buell of Harlan County, Kentucky; grandparents Harold and Viola (Gooch)
Hershberger of Mottville, Michigan as well as a host of other special relatives.
In accordance with the recommendations concerning COVID-19, the service will be private
for 10 immediate family members only. This private family service will take place on
Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the Community Harvest Church of God, 200 Empire Drive,
Somerset, Kentucky with Rev. Larry B. Perkins officiating. A “Celebration of Life” drive-through
service is open to family and friends. Cars must be at least six feet apart and families
must stay in their cars. Facebook Live will also be available. A tree will be planted in Tim’s
memory by his family.
