Thressia Justine Tackett

June 20, 1933 — July 19, 2017

Thressia Justine Tackett, 84, of Eubank, Kentucky, made her final journey home on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. Many knew her as Aunt Justine. She was born in Bobtown, Kentucky on June 20, 1933, daughter of the late Moses and Florida Whitis Hargis. She was a retired employee of Cowden's Sewing Factory. Later in life Justine enjoyed being outside and became known for her flowers and her fresh vegetables she grew in her garden. She was a member of Eden Baptist Church, where she was baptized. She is survived by "her boy", Jonathan Lennon, a daughter, Bonnie Sparks & (Ron), a brother, Truman Hargis & (Oma Lee) and a grandchild, Kasey Sparks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred "Smith" Tackett, her parents, two brothers, Thurman Hargis and Tommy Hargis, three sisters, Thelma Hargis Floyd, Tressia Sims and Josephine Lee and five siblings who died in infancy. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and Hospice of Lake Cumberland for their compassionate care to Justine during her illness. A funeral service will be held at 4 PM Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Clear Fork Cemetery in Waynesburg. Visitation will be after 2 PM Saturday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home. Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
