Stephen Dean Thompson

Stephen Dean Thompson, age 71, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky.

He was born February 6, 1955 to the late Jack Dean & Norma (Brewster) Thompson in Dayton, Ohio. Stephen was known for his love of fishing, spending any free time on the water. He would stop in the middle of the road to take in the beautiful surroundings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Dean and Norma Thompson; and three brothers, Andy Thompson, Anthony Moore and Jack Thompson.

He is survived by his children, Clinten & (Brittney) Thompson and Tilena Evans; grandchildren, Eric Evans, Brook Thompson, Forrest Thompson, and Sydney "Levi" Thompson; brothers, Nick Moore, and Scott Thompson; one sister, Taletha Thompson; his first wife, Tammy Stewart; and his second wife, Evelyn Durbin.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Phelps officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until time for services.
