Shirley Mae Daniel

Shirley Mae Daniel, age 77, passed away Friday, October 9. 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.

Shirley was born January 1, 1949 to the late Albert Daniel and Nannie Myrtle Whitaker in Somerset, Kentucky. She worked for many years at Eastern State and retired from Oakwood. She enjoyed puzzles and fishing.

She is survived by her five children, Sherry Neeley, Cheryl Neeley, Roxanna Phelps, Joshua Richardson, and Everett Joe Neeley; twelve grandchildren, Isabella Neeley, Dustin Hines, Javier Gonzalez, Leticia Rodriguez, David Gonzalez, Enrique Rodriguez, Jazzylynn Richardson, Joseph Neeley, Scarlett Mounce, Sadie Richardson, Octavia Simpson, and Dennis Lambert; six great-grandchildren, Santiago Rodriguez, Santiago Gonzalez, Kelsey Cherry, Waverly Lambert, Wednesday Lambert, and Leo Lambert; one great-great grandchild, Enora Cherry; three brothers, Wilson Odell Daniel, Bruce Whitaker, and Andy Hill; and one sister, Susie Bedford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Amanda Neeley; and eight siblings, Earl Daniel, Charles Buster Whitis, Joe Whitis, Janice Dooley, Deborah Whitis, Ruthie Whitis, Anna Glover, and an infant brother.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 PM until time for services at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
