Shaun Bays

Shaun Ozell Bays was born June 23, 1978 in Pikeville, KY and passed from this life July 27, 2017 at the age of 39 years. He was a devoted father, husband, and outdoorsman who easily made friends with everyone he met. His wit and humor endeared him to all. He is survived by his wife, Betsy Carlene Bays who steadfastly cared for him in his illness, and two young children Chloey (age 9) and Caleb (age 7). Shaun was a member of the Eubank Church of Christ. His parents, Sam and Brenda Bays of Prestonsburg, also survive him. He also leaves behind a brother, Sam (Amy) Bays II also of Prestonsburg and their children Joey, Tanner, and Hadley. One half-sister, Leslie, and her daughter, Whitney, also mourn his passing. He was the beloved son-in-law of Dale and Tammy Robins of Waynesburg, KY, and will be sorely missed by brothers-in-law Bobby (Karita) Robins, Matt (Bethany) Bastin and their children. Shaun’s remains will be returned to the outdoors that he loved, and a memorial service will be held at the Eubank Church of Christ on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 2:00 P.M.
