Sarah Joan (Compton) Lewis, 88, of Eubank, passed away Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Ritchey's home shared with Sarah.

She was born October 29, 1933 in Lexington; daughter of the late Robert & Jewel (Napier) Compton. She worked as an educator in her earlier years, then as a stay-at-home mother, later returning to work as an activities director with the elderly at Stepping Stones Center in Cincinnati. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She loved dancing, boating, and celebrating life with others spontaneously. Most of all Sarah loved Jesus and daily encouraged others to "Walk with Jesus".

She is survived by a son, David Compton Lewis; two daughters, Laura Joan & (Michael) Brennan and Rebecca & (Dasen) Ritchey; a sister, Linda (Compton) Horning Habich; and eight grandchildren, Sarah Brennan, Caleb Brennan, Violet Lewis, Monty Lewis, Hadiah Ritchey, Hannah Ritchey, Miriam Ritchey, and Ellen Ritchey.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Shearer Lewis; a brother, Robert Compton; and two sisters, Peggy Moberly and Betty McMullin.

A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at the Oakland Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky with Pastor Dan Burton officiating.

Gifts in her honor may be mailed to "We Remember" at 320 Old Somerset Stanford Rd, Eubank, KY 42567, a non-profit to equip the church and caregivers to meet the needs of loved ones with dementia.
