Rose Mae Childers

July 24, 1927 — February 6, 2020

Rose Mae Childers, 92, of Waynesburg, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Hospital.

She was born July 24, 1927 in Breathitt County, Kentucky; daughter of the late Andrew & Nannie (Fugate) Jones. She was a cook at the Waynesburg Elementary School and was a member of the Double Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Larry Wayne & (Irene) Childers and Kelly Paul & (Shirley) Childers; two daughters, Jeanette & (Dodd) Caudill of Ratcliff, Kentucky and Helen Louise Childers of Waynesburg; three brothers, Bob Jones, William "Dub" Jones, & Ernest Jones, Jr. all of Waynesburg; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 26 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth V. Childers; a daughter, Gloria Jean Sims; a brother, Earl Jones; and a sister, Sylvania Spencer.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Double Springs Baptist Church in Waynesburg with Bro. Jerry Martin officiating.

Burial will be Double Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, February 10, 2020 at the Double Springs Baptist Church.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
