Ronald Lee Wesley, Sr.

Ronald Lee Wesley, Sr. age 83, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed from this life Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Ronald was born January 10th, 1940 to the late Odis Wesley and Dorothy Pruitt-Wesley. He was saved at an early age. He was a proud member of the West Science Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a teacher of the young adult class for a few years. He enjoyed bowling and playing softball for the Crane company, where he worked and eventually retired from. Ronald also enjoyed playing baseball for Team Wheeldon. He was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed fishing with his brother Donald. He also enjoyed discussing politics and religion with his brother Jack. Most of all, he enjoyed bush hogging and taking care of the family farm with Jack. Ronald loved passing time by hunting. After retiring, he loved tending to his honeybees, taking a ride on his Honda Scooter, and playing horseshoes with his brothers and neighbors or anyone who wanted to play. Him and his brothers won many horseshoe tournaments throughout the years. One of his favorite games to play was Rook with his family. There was always a deck of cards around waiting to be played. Ronald never missed a Cincinnati Reds game or a UK basketball game. He loved telling the coaches what they did wrong. If him and his son wasn't watching it together, there would be a phone call right after to talk about the highlights or mourn a loss. He was a proud coach of his sons little league baseball team at Science Hill Park. He was a great chauffeur in the mornings when granddaughters would hide from the bus, Ronald would take them to school and always get them Hardees.

Ronald  is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Eunice Marie Wesley and Myrtle May Wesley-Zike.

He is survived by two brothers, Donald (Lena) Wesley of Westchester, Ohio, and Jackie (Nancy) Wesley of Fairfield, Ohio; one son, Ronald (Rhonda Petercheff) Wesley; five granddaughters, Jourdan Loveless Tackett, Brianna (Donovan) LeBeau, Morghan (Blaine) Sutton, Brooke (Wyatt) Wesley-Wooten, and Maghan Warren; two sons, Jackson Warren and Douglas (Paige) Leach; a special cousin, Robin & Kristi Wesley of Science Hill that did a lot for him throughout the years; and 3 nephews and 6 nieces to mourn his passing.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ron Meece and Bro. Don Branscum officiating.

Burial will be in West Science Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
