Robert Newell Ashley, 77, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born in Liberty, Kentucky on November 4, 1940, son of the late Ezra and Ruth Witt Ashley. He was a life long resident of Eubank, Kentucky. He loved farming, family and especially his grandchildren. He worked at the Kingsford Charcoal plant, Tecumseh and the G.E. plant.
He is survived by his companion of 25 years, Rebecca Campbell, one daughter, Pamela Gibson, one granddaughter, Erica Gibson-Guidroz, three grandsons, Jason Gibson, Matthew Ashley and John Ashley, two great-grandchildren, Haylee Wilson and Luke Guidroz, all of Eubank, three sisters, Joaline Collier of Versailles, KY, Pauline Wilson of London, KY and Rutheda Reel of Warrenton, MO, one brother, Gerald Ashley, Pastor of Flat Lick Baptist Church in Somerset, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ricky Ashley and two brothers, Ezra Carroll and Harold Glenn.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 26, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Ashley officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Thursday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
