Rena Abbott

Rena Abbott, 50, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at her residence. 

 

She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on October 15, 1971; daughter of Ruth Tarter, and the late Theodore Nicklas. She worked as a legal assistant in the past. She enjoyed watching TV, dancing, and listening to music. She loved watching Days of our Lives as well.

 

She is survived by three children, her son, Richard "Richie" Abbott; two daughters, Valerie & (Matt) Rollins, and Jenifer Baker & (JD Hubbard); two sisters, Kathy Shores & (Ronnie Johnson), and Mary Prichard & (Ricky Holton); grandchildren, Jasmine Rollins, Skylar Sharp, Makaila Baker, Devin Schuitema, Bradley Sharp, Melania Baker, Autumn Baker, Annie Abbott, Braxton Abbott, and Carson Abbott; nieces and nephews, Anthony Nicklas, Nathan Nicklas, Arnold Nicklas, Robin Gregory, Brittany Shores, Tommy Shores, David Shores, Joel Prichard, and Amber Durham;  and several great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Jeff Dykes.

 

She was preceded in death by her father Theodore Nicklas; maternal grandparents, Maude and William Clay Tarter; three brothers, Larry Nicklas, Benny Nicklas, and Gary Nicklas; and a nephew, Charles Nicklas.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Davis officiating.

 

Burial will be in Henderson - Norris Cemetery in Nancy.

 

The family would receive friends after 11 AM Tuesday, March 8, 2022 until time for services.
