Raymond Bates
November 18, 1943 — April 24, 2022
Raymond Bates, 78, of Eubank, passed away, Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born November 18, 1943 in Whitesburg, Kentucky; son of the late Farris & Lettie (Johnson) Bates. He was a retired coal truck driver and attended Shady Grove Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Elana Bates; four sons, Morris Bates of Winchester, Stevie Bates of Eubank, Raymond Bates II of Eubank, and Jason Bates of Eubank; two sisters, Mazie Holbrook of Whitesburg and Carolyn Gilreath of Williamsburg; ten grandchildren; and four great-granchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Clydena Collins; three brothers, Hargis Bates, Carlos Bates, and Harold Bates; and a sister, Hazel Young.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Lester Randolph officiating.
Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 5:30 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
