Phyllis Meece

Phyllis Ann Meece, age 66, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Phyllis was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 13, 1960, the daughter of the late Robert Allen and Barbara Ann (Akers) Ford.

She worked as a teacher's aide at Pulaski County High School, where she enjoyed working with and caring for the students she encountered throughout the years. Phyllis had a heart for helping others and took great pride in her work within the school system. In her free time, she enjoyed scrapbooking and, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church in Rockcastle County and had previously attended Garfield Park Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Brent Meece, whom she married on December 8, 1988; her children, Zach (Chrissie) Rohrman, Cole (Jessica) Meece, and Anna Meece; her siblings, Kathy (Jack) Tolentino, Debbi (Terry) Richards, Bret Ford, and Bradley Ford; her grandchildren, Arlo, Amos, and Ansel; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Allen and Barbara Ann (Akers) Ford.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2026, in the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026, and after 9:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the funeral service.
