Paula Wesley

January 2, 1943 — January 29, 2023

Somerset, Kentucky

Paula Mae Hall Wesley obtained her heavenly address at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Sunday night, January 29, 2023, after attaining the age of 80. Her wonderful doctors and nurses in the NCCU unit helped her to have an extra week of life that we weren't sure she would have.

She was born to Edward and Daisy (Neikirk) Hall on January 2, 1943, in the Beech Grove community.

She married Lowell Wesley on July 12, 1957. They moved to Indianapolis, Indiana after marrying, where she held several jobs including babysitter, server, and records presser at RCA. They had 2 children while in Indiana, who survive; R. Michelle Wesley of Somerset, Kentucky, and L. Monroe & (Jamie) Wesley, and their son, Brixton of Middleton, Tennessee.

The family moved to Memphis, Tennessee in 1978, where Paula earned her CNA certification and worked at Mid-South Nursing Home for many years before retiring to take care of her husband. She started the Little Lites Puppet Ministry at the Calvary Nazarene Church. They were one of the highest requested groups in Tennessee and the Mid-South area.

By moving to Somerset nearly 25 years ago, she was able to help care for her parents before their passing. She took care of Lowell until his death on February 2, 2012. She was a natural caregiver, and it was what she enjoyed most. She loved spending time with family and friends and watching TV. She enjoyed NASCAR racing and Cincinnati Reds baseball.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Hall; sisters, Mary Hall Godby and Lula Hall Bowman; in-laws, Elvin and Clara Wesley; along with brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Earlin Wesley, Lloyd Wesley, Delmar Wesley, Audrey Morris, and Mildred West.

Along with her children, she is survived by brothers; Cal & (Ina) Hall from Rockville, Indiana, Bert & (Toy Lee) Hall from Science Hill, Kentucky, Charles & (Ann) Hall from Somerset, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Howard Godby from Somerset, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends who may mourn her passing, but also celebrate that she is home with her Heavenly Father.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Darin Godby officiating.

Burial will be at the Beech Grove Cemetery in Science Hill.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 2, 2023, until time for services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are sent to one of Paula's favorite charities; Shriner's Children's Hospital at lovetotherescue.org, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida, 33607, or the St. Jude Hospital at stjude.org.

Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
