Patricia Dawn Whitlow Morris, 88, of Science Hill, Kentucky passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.
Pat was a devoted and Christ-centered woman whose life was marked by faith, service, and quiet strength. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 29, 1938, the daughter of the late Albert and Ruby Lee Whitlow.
Pat was a lifelong member of Science Hill Church of the Nazarene, where she faithfully served as a Sunday School teacher for many years, touching countless lives through her love for the Lord and her dedication to teaching His word.
In 1958, Pat became co-owner of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home, which was established by her husband, J.B. Morris, along with Denver Hislope and Norman Farris at its Highway 27 location following the opening of the new highway. She remained an important part of the funeral home's legacy for many years and later continued her work with Pulaski Funeral Home beginning in 2001.
In addition to her work in the funeral profession, Pat served as a Workforce Development Specialist with the Commonwealth of Kentucky until her retirement. In this role, she traveled extensively throughout rural communities across the state, working directly with individuals who were unemployed and in need of assistance. Pat was a strong advocate for those she served, helping connect them with resources and opportunities while also working to improve services and access in underserved areas. Her dedication to helping others during difficult times reflected her deep compassion and servant's heart. Never one to slow down, she later returned to work and continued serving others in that role until October of 2025.
A lifetime member of the Gideons International Women's Auxiliary, Pat was deeply committed to her faith and to sharing the message of Christ. She often traveled with her beloved husband, J.B. Morris, supporting him in both his work and ministry. She was a strong and faithful partner as he served the community for many years as a funeral director and as Pulaski County Coroner until his passing in April 1993.
Pat had a special appreciation for beauty in all its forms. She enjoyed shopping, especially for jewelry, flowers, and all things lovely, and she had a keen eye for unique and meaningful pieces. She was especially fond of antiques, cherishing the history and character behind each item she collected. Whether it was something elegant, timeless, or simply "pretty," Pat found joy in surrounding herself with things that reflected grace and beauty.
Pat will be remembered as a woman of unwavering faith, a loving wife, and a steady, compassionate presence in her community. Her life reflected Christ in both word and deed, and her legacy of kindness, service, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, James Scott Morris & (Elaine); grandchildren, Chasity Nichole Morris, Andrea Johnson, Brittany Dawn & (Marshall) Haydon, Austin Storm & (Morgan) Wilson, Macon James Wilson; a son-in-law, Reggie Wilson; her great-grandchildren, Leah Paige Bingham & (Dakota Saxon), Kolton Isaiah Johnson, Kaleb Adam Johnson, Kathryn Marie Johnson, Eleanor Epperson, Amellia Fern Epperson, Trip Haydon, Josie Dawn Haydon, Andi Mae Haydon, Blake Skylar Wilson, and Sawyer James Wilson; special friends, Marilyn Vaught, Jean Short, Theresa Jones, Jessica Gleason, and Jessie Bingham; as well as a host of other friends who were special to her.
