Orley Campbell, 77, of Science Hill, passed away Monday, November 14, 2022, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born June 10, 1945, in Unicoi County, Tennessee; son of the late Harvey & Sinda (Willis) Campbell. He worked as a distributor for Campbell Distributing and Little Debbie. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. Orley was a member for 50 years of the Mt. Gilead Masonic Lodge # 255 and was also a member of the Duke Memorial Baptist Church. He loved golfing, UK basketball, and hot rod cars.
He is survived by a daughter, Kristie Campbell-Turpin of Science Hill; three brothers, Conley Campbell of Science Hill, Herman Campbell of Somerset, and Don Campbell of Science Hill; two sisters, Tempie Campbell of Latonia, Kentucky, and Dorthy Michael of Burlington, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Zachary & Olivia Turpin; several nieces & nephews; and his pet companion, Lacey "Puppy".
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty J. Campbell; two brothers, Avery & Bascom "Bat" Campbell; and a sister, Christine Brewer.
A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Don Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.
Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post # 38.
Masonic services will be conducted by the Mt. Gilead Masonic Lodge # 255 prior to the funeral services on Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Visitation will be after 10:00 AM Friday, November 18, 2022, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Following services, a meal will be provided for the family at the Duke Memorial Baptist Church, 106 Layman Avenue, Somerset, Kentucky, 42503.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Duke Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund.
