Norma Jean Ashley
July 22, 1940 — February 14, 2026
Norma Jean Ashley, age 85, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born July 22, 1940 to the late Jake and Mae Phillippe in Casey County, Kentucky. Norma was a faithful member of Polly Ann Baptist Church and loved the Lord, cherishing spending her free time studying the Bible. She found joy in the simple, meaningful things in life, including tending to her garden, working puzzles, sewing, and flowers.
She is survived by her children, Sherry Ann Vogel, Gregory Lee & (Paula Sue) Ashley, and John Scott Ashley; her grandchildren, Jacob David Vogel, Dakota "Cody" Lee & (Kayla) Ashley, Courtney Lynn Ashley, Gregory Waylon & (Liv) Ashley, Shelby Faith Ashley, and Devon Jake Ashley; and her great-grandchildren, Blake Ashley, Axel Ashley, Kaiden Ashley, Sawyer Ashley, Karson Ashley, and Oliver Ashley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Mae Phillippe; her husband, Janis Vernon Ashley; son-in-law, James Vogel; and seven brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Salyers Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time for services at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
