Myrtle Kemper

Myrtle Kemper, 93, of Eubank, Kentucky departed this life and went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 9, 2024.

She was born on June 26, 1930 to the late Lewis and Vicie Richardson Harris.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Marion Kemper; sons, Michael Kemper and Gregory Kemper; siblings, Herman, Delbert, Steve, Willie, James, Lewis Jr., Wayne, and Hiram Harris, Lucy Staup, Norma Jean Coffey, and Leona Brown.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Hollie & (Doug) Koger of Nancy, KY, Matthew Kemper of Nancy, KY, Brittany Kemper of Science Hill, KY, and Brooke Kemper of Science Hill, KY; great-grandchildren, Austin Hunter Rainwater or Nancy, KY, Katherine Coleman of Charleston, SC, Sophia Letner, Channing Letner, and Storm Kemper of Science Hill, KY; special Kemper niece, Colleen & (Randy) Taulbee of Kodak, TN, and a host of other special nieces and nephews; two beloved caregivers, Tammy Reynolds and Diana Clemmons; as well as other beloved friends.

Myrtle was a long time member of Freedom Christian Church. A diligent homemaker and an avid gardener. Myrtle was a wonderful cook that spent many hours cooking and making her famous Maple Nut fudge for her family. Myrtle was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

The family would also like to thank the staff of Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 16, 2024 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Tracy Valentine officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 11 AM Friday, February 16, 2024 until time for services.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
