Michael Dale McDonald

Michael Dale McDonald, 41, passed away, Thursday, January 13, 2022. He was born February 27, 1980 in Frankfort, Kentucky. Somerset, Kentucky was home. He graduated from PCHS in 1998, during his time there he participated in several sport clubs, one being track-n-field, where he excelled in the high jump, securing a scholarship to Lindsey Wilson, where he majored in education.

Michael leaves behind three children, Michael McDonald II and Ellie McDonald, both of Pennsylvania, and Aiden McDonald, of Frankfort. He is also survived by his mother Donna Smith of Frankfort; father, Dennis Cowart of Somerset; two sisters, Michelle Helil and Maryna Smith, both of Frankfort.

Michael entered active duty on April 12, 2001 and received an honorable discharge just one year into his 2nd deployment, when he became injured.

The family requests that all donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Langford officiating.

Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Post # 8.

Burial will be in Camp Nelson Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 9:00 AM Friday, January 21, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
