Mary Ellen Butt

Mary Ellen Butt, 75, of Science Hill, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Jean Waddle Care Center.

She was born August 18, 1946 in Somerset; daughter of the late William Marion & Artie Precilla (Roberts) Dick. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was of the Baptist Faith.

She is survived by a son, Danny Gilbert Butt of Science Hill; three daughters, Vickie & (Robert) Carter of Lancaster, Debbie Clothier of Science Hill, and Kathy Butt of Science Hill; a sister, Ruby Peters of Shopville, seven grandchildren, Robert, Nathan, & Kristen Carter, Eric & Brandon Clothier, Jesse Butt, and Danny Butt, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren, Bradley, Logan, Caleb, & Natalie Carter, Jaden, Josiah, Hembree, & Shane Carter, David Walker, Jaelyn Clothier, and Clara Butt; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert Butt; four brothers, Bill, Bob, Ed, and Bud Dick; and a sister, Virginia Harrison.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Monday, August 15, 2022 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Monday, August 15, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
