Mary Geneva Burchfield

Mary Geneva (Parker) Burchfield, 83, of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Jean Waddle Care Center.

She was born on March 20, 1937 in Hart County; daughter of the late Jack & May (Vaughn) Parker. She worked as a sales clerk for Watson's Department Store and was a member of Science Hill Christian Church. She loved antiquing, cooking for family, & mornings with coffee club friends.

She is survived by two sons, Jack & (Diane) Logsdon of Science Hill and Perry & (Celeste) Logsdon of Somerset; three grandchildren, Jasie Logsdon & (Bryan Hearn), Wesley & (Alicia) Logsdon, and Bradley & (Mandi) Logsdon; and three great-grandchildren, Nolan, Lily, & Shaylee Logsdon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Vernon Burchfield; two brothers, Bernis & Arvin Parker; two sisters, Faye Brown & Audrey Shuffett; and two grandchildren, Lindsey & Carley Logsdon.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gordy Prather & Bro. Darrell Vance officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
