Lucy Merrick

Lucy Mae Merrick, 85, of Science Hill, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Jean Waddle Care Center.

She was born February 16, 1938 in Mount Victory; daughter of the late Alex & Nellie (Jones) Barnett. She worked as a Nurse Aid for Hilltop Nursing Home. She was a member of Campground Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Jeff & (Eileen) Merrick of Warrensburg, Missouri; a daughter, Kim & (Lonnie) Davis of Somerset; a brother, Denton Barnett of London, Kentucky; two sisters, Nettie Harper of Somerset and Thelma & (Wendall) Randall; eight grandchildren, Samatha Bell, Caleb Merrick, Jessica Marksmeier, Jeremy Merrick, Zachary Davis, Kelby Davis, Haily Davis, & Noah Davis.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lendon Merrick; two brothers, David & Dong Barnett; and two sisters, Betty Inabnitt, & Edith Hannah.

A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Troy Merrick and Bro. Jim McKinney officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
