Lester Ray Singleton

Lester Ray "Deacon" Singleton, 78, of Eubank, passed away peacefully at his home on October 20, 2021. 

 

He was born October 13, 1943 in Somerset; son of the late Clyde & Edna (Clark) Singleton. He was an over the road truck driver most of his life until he retired. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Masonic Lodge in Science Hill for 55 years and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Yosemite.

 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Fonda; daughter and son-in-law, Ruthie & Andy Fadnek and their children, daughter, Lindsey & husband, Corey Verner and son, Logan Fadnek; grandson, Corey Singleton and his wife Brooke and their son, Cage, and daughter, Caselyn who is due in December; two sisters, Martha Blevins and Judy Williams; one brother, John Singleton; and lots of nieces, nephews, and friends.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Esther Burton, Ruby Roe, Thelma Jean Gundlach; one brother, Jerry Singleton and his son, Jerry Singleton, as well as his grandson, J.C. Singleton.

 

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Haste and Bro. Jeff Griffin officiating.

 

Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in the name of Lester Singleton and J.C. Singleton.
