Lendon Merrick, 88, of Science Hill, passed away Monday, November 11, 2019 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
He was born on October 6, 1931; son of the late Ernal & Bessie (Scrimager) Merrick. He worked as a printer for over 30 years at Dayton Press and Modern Vending for over 17 years. He also worked as a farmer and was a member of Camp Ground Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy (Barnett) Merrick; a son, Jeff & (Eileen) Merrick of Warrensburg, Missouri; a daughter Kim & (Lonnie) Davis of Somerset; four brothers, Ervel Merrick of Lexington, Troy & (Elaine) Merrick of Science Hill, Dale Merrick of Somerset, and Wilbern & (Mary) Merrick of Nicholasville; two sisters, Ruby & (Thomas) Shadoan of Somerset and Rose Stogsdill of Lexington; two sisters-in-law Mary Merrick of Somerset and Linda Watts of Nicholasville; eight grandchildren, Samantha Bell, Caleb Merrick, Jessica Merrick, Jeremy Merrick, Zachary Davis, Kelby Davis, Noah Davis, and Haily Davis; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, George Merrick and Vernon Merrick; a brother-in-law, Dale Stogsdill; and a sister-in-law, Enza Merrick.
A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Watson officiating.
Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
