Laura Samples

Laura Samples, 100, of London, Kentucky passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026.

She was born on November 20, 1925 to the late Thomas C. & Alice (Lunsford) McDaniel in Burning Springs, Kentucky. Laura had a joyful spirit and a love for life. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and sharing a good laugh over a joke. She loved going to church and singing, and she found peace and happiness by the ocean. Laura's warmth and joy will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Ilka Lunsford; five grandchildren, Sarah, Paige, Sierra, Emma, and Tylor; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Samples; and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 23, 2026 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Bullock officiating.

Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time for services.
