Junior Lee Hodge

Junior Lee Hodge, 88, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018.

He was born in the Stringtown community of Science Hill on April 21, 1930, son of the late Ray and Janie Abbott Hodge. He was a pattern maker for Superior Patterns in Cincinnati, OH and a member of Clifty Road Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea and attaining the rank of Corporal.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley P. Acey Hodge, whom he married on September 21, 1951, very close friends, Brenda and Allan Whitaker and Randy and Mary Wiles, a special nephew, Earnest James & (Joyce) Hodge of Monticello, several nieces and nephews. He dearly loved and cared for his wife, Shirley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and two sets of twin daughters, who all died in childbirth, brothers, George Allen Hodge, Cyrus Hodge, Walter Hodge, Louis Hodge, Clifford Hodge, Earnest Hodge and Roy Hodge and sisters, Nettie Hodge Betty Kaelin and Marie Haste.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Wiles officiating.

Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 10 AM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 honor guard.
