John A. Collins, 89, formerly of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018.
He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 15, 1929; son of the late Uzera and Lula Alice Dungan Collins. John was of the Baptist faith. He worked throughout the years as a farmer and carpenter, and was a member of the Mt. Gilead Lodge #255.
He is survived by a brother, Clay & (Jeannie) Collins of Eubank, KY; three grandchildren, Jason & (Janet) Collins, Joshua Collins and Tyler & (Christen) Collins; and two great-grandchildren, Braylin Chance Collins and Grant McKee Collins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Frances McKee Collins whom he married on November 4, 1949, and who passed away on March 28, 2018; his parents; three sons, Jerry C. Collins, Terry G. Collins and Tracy G. Collins; a brother, Harold Collins; and four sisters, Doris Henry, Bessie Shelton, Betty Shelton, and Patricia Collins.
A funeral service will be held at 7 PM EST Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Dustin York and Bro. Robert H. Collins officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 12 PM Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Science Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 1 PM EST Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
