Joey J. Smith

Joey J. Smith, 52, of Russell Springs, Kentucky passed away Saturday, October 31, 2026 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

He was born in Columbia, Kentucky on February 17, 1974; son of Faylene Spencer Smith and the late James Royce Smith. He was a cattle farmer who found great enjoyment in farming, fishing, and working in tobacco. He especially cherished family vacations to the beach and the time spent making memories with those he loved. Above all else, his family meant everything to him. He had a special love for children and always enjoyed being around them, but his greatest joy was being a father. His daughter was his pride and joy, and the love he had for her was beyond measure. The time he spent with his wife, daughter, and son-in-law was what mattered most, and those memories will forever be treasured by his family. He attended, Fairview Separate Baptist Church in Jamestown.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amber Hadley Smith, whom he married on May 10, 2008; his mother, Faylene Spencer Smith; his daughters, Madelyne Smith Bennett & (Trenton) and Hallie Hadley; his sister, Joanne Davis; his sisters-in-law, Britney Creech & (Justin) and Madison Bradshaw & (Alex); his brother-in-law, Gage Hicks; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Darrell & Patsy Hadley; his nieces and nephews, Tori, Amber, Madison, Mallory, Archer, Lakyn, and Laynie; and his beloved fur babies, Merle & Loretta Mae.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Royce Smith, and his sister, Janet Smith.

A private service will be held with burial to follow in Grant Cemetery.
