James L. "Jim" Gooch

James "Jim" Gooch, 84, of Science Hill, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at his residence.

He was born on December 30, 1935 in Crab Orchard; son of the late Homer & Josephine (Braley) Gooch. He was a truck driver and of the Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his children, Connie & (Bob) Anderson of Science Hill, Kathy & (Danny) Carroll of Somerset, and Michael & (Gail) Gooch of Eubank; a brother, Robert Gooch of Johnson City, Tennessee; two sisters, Phyllis Gooch of Somerset and Rose Edwards of Eubank; and ten grandchildren, Jennifer Witt, Jon, Marc, Tiffany, Brad, & Joshua Anderson, Jimmy Dan Carroll, Ashley Gooch, Makayla Mason, & Makenzie Gooch; twenty five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Louise (Hendricks) Gooch and two brothers, Deane Gooch, Art Gooch, who died in infancy; and a grandson, Tommy Lee Gooch.

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Green officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
