James A Wesley

James A Wesley, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital surrounded by loved ones.  

Jim was born in Casey County to Marvin L. and Helen Carman Wesley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Martin Wesley, and his son, Steve Wesley.

He received a teaching degree from Eastern Kentucky University and worked as an industrial arts teacher in Michigan and Ohio, and later worked for Cincinnati Electronics. Jim was a man of faith and member of Science Hill Christian Church. He enjoyed working on cars, computers, ham radios, and was a member of the Lake Cumberland Amateur Radio Association.Jim’s kind, calm, and reassuring presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Abney Wesley, and his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Jeff Dalton, and his grandson, Cody James Dalton, and his sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Winston Osborne. Other survivors include his nephew, Brian and Sara Osborne, his niece, Margena and Rod Keltner, and their families, his stepdaughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Greg Lakes, and stepgrandchildren, Mallory Lakes and MacGregor Lakes, and a host of close friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 31, from 4:00-6:00pm at Morris Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill. 

The funeral service will be immediately following at 6:00pm. 

Burial will be the following week at Pierce Township Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
