Garry Lee Dalton

Garry Lee Dalton, age 76, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Garry was born July 28, 1949 to the late Lewis & Mary Irene (Harmon) Dalton in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was saved and baptized in 1962 at the age of 13, a decision that remained an important part of his life and faith. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Science Hill. He had a deep love for basketball and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, especially the University of Kentucky, of which he was an avid fan. In his quieter moments, he loved playing card games and board games, especially when shared with family and friends. Above all, Garry will be remembered for his sweet, kind, and caring nature. He had a gentle spirit and a way of making those around him feel valued and welcome.

Garry is survived by his nieces and nephews, Billie Gail & (Ryan) Martin, William Jared & (Alisha) Shepherd, Tami & (Teddy) Brody, Kristi & (Wendell) Cassada, Scottie & (Sheila) Dalton, and Mary Schmidt. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, as well as a special caregiver, Jamie Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis & Irene Dalton; his siblings, Bobby Gerald Dalton, Ronald Lewis & (Lois) Dalton, Brenda Gail & (Bill) Shepherd, Wanda R. & (Lloyd) Sweeney, Timothy Wayne Dalton, and James Arthur "Jimmy" Dalton; and two nieces, Sonja Frazier and Shannon Ray Simpson.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Hall officiating.

Burial will follow at Science Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:30 AM until time for services at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
