Frances A. Jacobs, age 87, of Somerset, KY passed away on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Frances was born in Covington, KY on July 28, 1934 to the late Charles Jenkins and Mary Adams Jenkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Rev. C E Jacobs; her parents; and a sister, Martha Jane Jenkins, who died in infancy.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kathy (Eddie) Griffin of Somerset, Sue (Jerry) Claunch of Somerset, and Jeanette (Virgil) Parker of Campbellsville; five grandchildren, Alison Griffin, Evan (Alison) Claunch, Adam (Amy) Griffin, Zach Parker, and Abi (Thomas) Waldrupe; six great-children, Ashley Griffin, Addyson Griffin, Ayden Griffin, Alex Norton, Natalie Claunch, and Anniston Claunch; one sister, Betty Jenkins Sturgill; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member of High Street Baptist Church in Somerset and a homemaker.
She enjoyed arts and crafts, playing games, and working puzzles. She treasured time spent with her family and loved to reminisce by telling stories and sharing memories. She also enjoyed nature, especially birds, butterflies, and flowers. She had the gift of becoming friends with every dog she met.
Much of her adult life was spent raising children and supporting her husband throughout the entirety of his pastoral ministry at several churches in Kentucky and Ohio. Their longest service was 24 years at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Somerset.
Frances was fun, loving, feisty, and a wonderful person. She was Fran. She was Mom. She was Momaw. She was loved.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Morris Hislope Funeral Home in Science Hill, KY, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 P.M., with Bro. David Muse officiating. Pallbearers will be sons-in-law Eddie Griffin, Jerry Claunch, and Virgil Parker, and grandsons Evan Claunch, Adam Griffin, and Zach Parker.
Burial will be in Olive Baptist Church Cemetery in Waynesburg, KY.
The family respectfully requests that all visitors wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines due to the current Covid situation.
