Floyd Chester Godbey
June 7, 1932 — November 18, 2022
Floyd Chester Godbey, 90, of Dayton, Ohio; formerly of Pulaski county; passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Dayton VA Medical Center, Dayton, Ohio.
He was born June 7, 1932 in Pulaski County, KY; son of the late Henry Wallace & Nancy Spears Godbey. He was a laborer for the Norfolk Southern Railway, a former employee of Smith Monuments and a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Joe & (Lorraine) Godbey of Dayton, OH, and Kirt & (Marcia) Godbey of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren, Eli, Eva, Trent and Matthew and a sister, Norma of Indianapolis, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Dick Godbey; two brothers, Ben Godbey and Gyrstal, who died in infancy; two sisters, Carolyn and Gladys.
A funeral service will be 10 AM Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Bullock officiating.
Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Monday, November 21, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
