Everett Earl Poynter, 80, of Somerset, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 at his residence.
He was born in Pulaski Co., on February 11, 1942; son of the late William Goble and Locie Mae (Debord) Poynter. He spent his life both farming and logging. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed chewing tobacco, and could always be found with a pack.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith (Burdine) Poynter whom he married on March 29, 1967; his children, Troy & (Karen) Poynter, JoAnn & (James) McKinney, and Brent & (Trish) Poynter; one sister, Hazel Head; grandchildren, Colten Poynter, Samuel McKinney, Timothy McKinney, Andrew & (Cara) Oakes, Brandi Loos, Catilyn Patterson, Mariah J. Sears, and Chantel & (Junior) Meece; great-grandchildren, Braxton Sears, Jazmyn Oakes, Savannah Oakes, Landon Oakes, Bailee Oakes, Ellen Oakes, and Caden Oakes, Connor Owen Loos, Ryan Henry Loos, Sam Loos, Brantley Patterson, and Canden Patterson; and a special four legged companion, Daisy May.
He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Allen Poynter who died in infancy; his parents, William Goble and Locie Mae (Debord) Poynter; siblings, Calla Ann Poynter, Willie David Poynter, Mary Hudson, Jane VanHook, Kathleen Stigall, Magdalene Brown, and Dewey Poynter; and a grandson, Josh Oakes.
A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Monday, July 25, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery with Bro. Bradley Goforth and Bro. Kevin Bullock officiating.
