Ethel M. McKenzie

Ethel M. McKenzie, 87, of Nancy, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

 

She was born on February 27, 1934 in Bobtown, Kentucky; daughter of the late Noah & Mary Mae (Phelps) Hargis. She was a retired sales clerk of Walmart and was a member of the Church of Christ.

 

She is survived by a son, James & (Kelly) McKenzie of Nancy; three daughters, Lana & (James) Mathison of Louisville, Gloria Dale Cotto of Harrodsburg, and Jacqueline & (Roy) Burdine of Burnside; two brothers, Noah Olan Hargis of Pendleton, Kentucky and Everett Hargis of Danville, Illinois; a sister, Goldie Hargis Smith of Danville, Illinois; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Manford McKenzie; and a brother, Eugene Hargis.

 

A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Ponder officiating.

 

Burial will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be after 10:30 AM Monday, December 13, 2021 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
