Emma White

Emma Frances White, age 89, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away August 19, 2022.

She was born on March 27, 1933; the daughter of the late Chester & Mary Catherine Stogsdill. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Science Hill. She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church of Science Hill with her daughter and family. Emma worked at GE, Leire Sigler, and Palm Beach, where her sister-in law, Nellie White, introduced her to the love of her life and husband, Lewis E. White. She also worked at factories in Tennessee and Virginia. She worked for the Corps of Engineer Park Service with her husband. She was a park attendant and care taker at Fishing Creek Campground and Kendall Campground, where she met many wonderful people and friends. She was always a friend to everyone. She loved to fish, garden, crochet, and work puzzles. Most importantly, she loved reading her bible and spending time with her family. Her family was the light of her life. She cherished her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She lived life to the fullest, spreading happiness to everyone she met.

Emma leaves behind to mourn her passing her daughter, Kathy & (Danny) Hines of Science Hill; son, Tony & (Jody) White of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, James & (Gina) Hines, Derek & (Melissa) Hines, Danny Jo Hines, James & (Dessie) White, Jeremiah White, and Loryn & Buddy; great-grandchildren, Dustin & (Kayla), Brian & (Brooke), Jason & (Morgan), Casey, Rylee, Destiny, Emma Grace, Jace, Adrian, Chasity & Chelsea; and great-great-granchildren, Harrison, Khianina, Ella, Dean, Kirstyn, Kevin & Westyn; siblings, Ilene Dye and William Ray Stogsdill both of Somerset.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis E. White; her parents; sisters, Theda Mae & Ina; brothers, Arlie "Bud" Stogsdill; sons, Eddie & Wesley White; grandson, Steven Hines; and great-grandson, Austin Hines.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, August 22, 2022 at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Evans officiating.

Burial will be in Science Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
