Ella Maude York, 78, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, May 19, 2018.
She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on June 9, 1939, daughter of the late Howard and Thelma Russell Hall. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Sylvia W. York, whom she married on April 30, 1960, six children, Eugene & (Teresa) York of Waynesburg, Winford & (Amanda) York, Larry & (Lisa Gambrel) York, Ann & (Eugene) Meece, James & (Teresa) York and Edith & (Bruce) Johnson, all of Eubank, seven grandchildren, Erica & (Bryan) Kaufman of Somerset, Reva & (Chris) Pike of Waynesburg, Jeffrey & (Chastity Ison) York of Waynesburg, Travis & (Casey Johnson) Meece, Cody & (Paige Simpson) Johnson and Krista Johnson, all of Eubank and Nicholas York of Waynesburg, eight great-grandchildren, Landon Johnson, Zayden York, Logan Kaufman, Anna Meece, Alyssa Pike, Harley Kaufman, Alexx Kaufman and Clara Meece and five brothers and sisters, Shirley & (Charles) Gastineau of Somerset, Brenda & (Kenny) Beck of Lexington, Mae Griffin, Jimmy & (Linda) Hall and Eddie & (Janet) Hall, all of Somerset. She loved each and every grandchild and great-grandchild with all her heart. She would light up every time they visited. She also loved her dogs, kittens, chickens, especially "Baby Doodles", her flowers and gardening as long as her health permitted.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Dorothy Faye Hall and one brother-in-law, George Griffin.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Don Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Eubank Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
