Edward J. "Ed", "E.J." Whitis, age 80, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 after a brief illness.
He was born in the Bobtown, Kentucky community, son of the late Bobby and Buena Poynter Whitis.
He leaves his beloved wife Violet Girdler Whitis, his children Carol & (David) Morris, Jim Whitis, Randy Whitis and Ricky Whitis, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his special “workshop” friends Rod Elliott and Tommy Hines and his fishing buddy Jay Matlock.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Renny Whitis, his sisters Christine Harper, Bobbie Jean & (Cecil) Messenger, Wilene & (Eugene) Hargis, Fayrene & (Martin) Strumberger and dear brother Donald & (Fran) Whitis.
To carry out his wishes, there will be no services.
Morris & Hislope Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
