Earl Roy 'Bee' York

September 19, 1937 — July 26, 2024

Earl Roy "Bee" York, 86, transitioned to his heavenly home on Friday, July 26, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He passed away at the Somerset Nursing Rehab facility after a short stay there. Bee, born on September 19, 1937 was the son of the late John T. York & Dorothy Calder York. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Donna Estes & Faye Taylor. Bee also was preceded in death by the following siblings; Bernard Lee York & James Ray "Jimmy" York.

Bee is survived by his children, Ricky & (Crystal) Wesley, Earlene & (Mark) Wallace, Mike York, Doug York, and Pam Payton; his sister, Joyce Atwood; many grandchildren & great grandchildren whom all loved Bee very much.

Bee was known for his outstanding work ethic as he worked in the lumber & pipeline industry in his early career. Bee later retired from the City of Eubank. He was a well-respected colleague as he always took great pride in his work.

Bee was known as a Christ-like man, a loving father & a loving grandfather. He will be remembered as the grandfather who loved taking the grandkids to the creek to swim, to Sandidge Grocery for their favorite flavor of an ice cream cone, and the grandfather who helped teach them to drive. Bee let the grandkids steer the wheel of his pick-up truck as he patiently rode along.

Bee was devoted to his faith and he cherished time with his church family. He was a father who instilled the love of God in his children from the time they were young. Bee took his children to church and he was truly an example of a Godly man. Bee was considered a "spiritual father" at the Spirit of Truth Outreach.

In Bee's spare time, he was an avid coon hunter. He loved spending time with his coon hunting friends. Bee also enjoyed trips to Gatlinburg, gardening, watching UK Basketball games, and family gatherings. Bee was known for his gentle spirit, neighborly ways, infectious smile, and "Rook" playing skills. He enjoyed fellowship at the Eubank Senior Citizens Center until his failing health prohibited him from attending festivities there. Bee was a pillar in the Eubank Community who was loved dearly and will certainly be missed.
