Dorothy Paulette Pumphrey

Dorothy Paulette Pumphrey, 78, of Rutledge, Tennessee, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023.

She was born July 13, 1944 in Eubank; daughter of the late Charlie & Mary Ann (Thompson) Anderson. She was a retired store associate at K-Mart, enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, puzzles, playing bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Steven Ray Pumphrey of Eubank; a daughter, Marilyn Renita Pumphrey of Atlanta, Georgia; six grandchildren, Stacy Rena Ledford, Leonard Cody Carpenter, Jordan Royce Pumphrey, Hayli Morgan Pumphrey, Sabrina Michelle Pumphrey, and Scotty Ray Pumphrey; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Phillip N.C. Pumphrey; a son, Phillip Royce Pumphrey; a brother, Estill Anderson; a sister, Gurnis Edna Helton; an infant sister, Pearly Ruth Anderson; and a grandson, Bobby Eric Wolfe.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Robins officiating.

Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Willailla, Kentucky.

Visitation will be after 12:00 PM Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
