Doria Owens

Doria Lee Owens, 82, of Plainfield, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the IU West Hospital in Avon, Indiana.

Doria was born on September 29, 1943 to the late John Silas & Ruby Edith (Warren) Mofield in Somerset, Kentucky. She lived in Indiana for 30 years, where she worked as a beautician and proudly owned and operated several beauty shops. She was blessed with a loving marriage to her husband, Damon Owens, with whom she shared 30 devoted years. After her mother passed, they moved back to Science Hill, Kentucky where she inherited her childhood home. Together, they remodeled the home and spent another 25 years there. During that time, she was a faithful attendee of King Bee Nazarene Church. In 2023, Doria and Damon moved back to Indiana where they were closer to family and became residents of Glasswater Creek Assisted Living.

She had a deep love for gardening and found joy in tending to flowers of every kind, especially creating beautiful floral arrangements. Above all, Doria cherished her family. Her greatest happiness came from being involved in their lives, especially the lives of her beloved grandchildren. Her presence, devotion, and warmth will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Damon Owens; her children, Vickie & (Jim) Husselman and Timothy Dick; her grandchildren, Brittney Padgitt and Tiffany Husselman; a great-grandchild, Oliver George; and her siblings, Geraldine Whiles, and Edward Mofield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Kenneth & (Pauline) Mofield, Brennis & (Barbara) Mofield, and John Paul Mofield; and a sister-in-law, Alma Mofield.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 in the Chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. David Bullock officiating.

Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
