Donna Leah Spencer

Donna Leah "Jordan" Spencer, 71 of Eubank, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at the Jean Waddle Care Center with her loved ones by her side.

Donna was born on November 21, 1954, in Somerset, Kentucky, and grew up in Eubank, where she made many cherished memories throughout her childhood. She was one of two siblings, alongside her sister, Mary Ann New. Donna graduated from Eubank High School with the Class of 1972. She often fondly remembered her younger years and the special moments shared with family and friends growing up in the Eubank community.

On March 29, 1997, Donna married the love of her life, Jeff Spencer, beginning a beautiful chapter of their lives together. Although Donna was never able to have children of her own, the Lord blessed her with three wonderful girls who became a cherished part of her life. She loved them dearly, and they loved her just as deeply.

Some of the most treasured memories they shared were simple moments around the kitchen table-game nights filled with laughter, music playing in the background, board games spread across the table, and making pizza hoagies together. These were the moments Donna held close to her heart, and the memories that will forever be cherished by those who loved her.

Donna was a pistol-full of personality, determination, and never one to back down from hard work. If you knew Donna, you knew she was not afraid of any kind of work and would always find a way to get the job done. She retired from TTAI, where she spent many dedicated years as a devoted employee, forming lasting friendships and making countless memories along the way. Retirement, however, did not suit Donna for long. She quickly realized that sitting around the house and relaxing simply was not for her, so she went back to work part-time as a cashier at Kroger.

Donna was also no stranger to hard work at home. For countless years, she spent her evenings working in the tobacco fields, then found joy in tending her garden and putting up the fruits of her labor through canning. She took pride in providing for those she loved, and many of her favorite foods were made right at home, carrying with them the love and care that Donna put into everything she did.

Donna was well known for her famous "Nanner Puddin'," a family favorite that everyone looked forward to at gatherings. It was one of those special treats that simply wouldn't have been the same without Donna making it. She also loved the simple moments of life, especially singing songs with her husband, Jeff, while riding in the car, sewing, and spending time tending to her beautiful flower gardens.

For many years, Donna spent countless weekends waiting for the phone to ring with Jeff's familiar words, "I shot a deer!" Eventually, she decided that if you can't beat them, you might as well join them. The first time Jeff took her hunting, Donna gave it a try-and to everyone's delight, she came home with her very first buck. True to Donna's nature, she didn't do things halfway; she went out for the first time and got the job done.

Over the years, she quilted many beautiful blankets and lovingly hand-stitched baby blankets for each of the newborns in her family. It was her way of welcoming each new little life and wrapping them in something made with love.

Donna was working on her very last quilt during the week before she passed. Her firstborn granddaughter, Morgan Coomer, is expecting a baby girl, and Donna was determined to finish the blanket before she had to say her final goodbyes. Even as her time grew short, she diligently continued working on it, wanting to leave something special behind for her newest great-granddaughter. Before she passed, Donna made her sister, Mary Ann, promise that she would finish the blanket for her. It will be a treasured reminder of Donna's love-a piece of her that will be wrapped around her great-granddaughter for years to come.

She is survived by her husband, Morgan Jefferson (Jeff) Spencer Jr.; her daughters, Kendra Jo Spencer & (Josh Coffey), Natalie Gail & (Gary) Foust, and Courtney Rebecca & (Aaron) Eaton; her grandchildren, Morgan Coomer & (Jakolby Loy), Zander Mounce, Ty Coffey, Braxton Aker, Chloe Aker, Jaxson Foust, Ellie Foust, Emily Foust & (Trace Floyd), Zach Foust & (Zoey Hilton), Dalton Foust, Jacob Eaton, and Andrew Eaton; her great-grandchildren, Elara Floyd, Talis Floyd, Lucas Foust, and Morgan's baby girl on the way; her sister, Mary Ann Jordan New; special friends, Lee and Jeanie Wall and Nora Kay Wall; special cousins, Lester & (Linda) Surber, Denver Surber, and April & (David) Donathon; her nephews, Rodney and Ricky New; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Dee Surber Jordan; her grandparents, Roscoe and Jane Lowe Surber; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Morgan and Pearl Spencer; two uncles, John Alvin and Evelyn Surber and Elbert Denton Surber; an aunt, Mary Surber; and a cousin, Kim Dolinger.

She will be forever missed and loved by many.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremy Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in the Spencer Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time for services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form in donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
