Darrell W. Haste

Darrell Wayne Haste, 68, of Science Hill, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Darrell was born on September 30, 1953 in Science Hill, Kentucky; son of the late Oscar and Hulda Roberts Haste. He was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed playing guitar and listening to Bluegrass Gospel Music. He loved fishing, coon hunting, and spending time with his family and friends. Darrell was a member of Jacksonville Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Christine Haste; his daughter, Christy Joann Haste-McKinney; his son, Kevin & (Ashley) Haste; siblings, Kenneth Glen Haste, Mary Alice Mofield, Margie Ann & (Steve) Tilley, Gary Steve & (Darlene) Haste, Shirley Jane Spears, and Douglas Floyd & (Bonnie) Haste; grandchildren, Whitney Michelle Haste, Caleb Ray McKinney, Robert Wayne McKinney, Braxton Ray Haste, Judd Thomas Haste, and Cole Oscar Haste; and a slew of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Myrtle Haste; siblings, James Frank Haste, Harold Junior Haste, Carroll Thomas "Tooter" Haste, Matrie Irene Haste Durham; a set of twins born in the arms of the Lord; and a special nephew, Randy Allen Haste.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the chapel of Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Smith Cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 1 PM Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
