Darlene Haste Obituary

Darlene Haste, 76, of Science Hill, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Jean Waddle Care Center after an extended illness. She was born into this life on October 28th, 1949, to Troy and Lois Godby. Darlene retired from Palm Beach Manufacturing after a 26-year career, but her favorite job was being a granny. A few of her hobbies included tending to her flower gardens, decorating for the holidays, and finding the perfect decoration or outfit to buy.

Darlene is survived by her husband of 60 years, Steve Haste, and two daughters Kim Haste and Karen Upchurch (Alan); two granddaughters, Abigail Upchurch and Peyton Haste; two brothers, Philip Godby (Darlene) and Emery Godby; and one sister Geraldine Jones (Don); along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, Troy and Lois Godby, Darlene was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles "Mutt" Godby, Jimmy Godby (Annalee), and Bill Godby (Janet).

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home with Brother TJ Godby and Brother Chuck Godby officiating.

Visitation for family will begin at 10:00 am, and the public will be received at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 9th. ,2026. Her burial will follow at the Science Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Pulaski County Humane Society, Pulaski County Animal Shelter, or H.A.P.I (Hope for All Pets, Inc).
