Cordelia Mae Godsey

Cordelia Mae "Mae" Godsey, age 81, of Eubank, Kentucky, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Mae was born on June 13, 1945, at her grandmother's home in Pulaski County, Kentucky, to the late Allen and Lema (Blevins) Hoseclaw.

She was the devoted wife of the late Homer Lee "Lee" Godsey, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and playful bickering. Together they built a family that became the center of her world.

Mae dedicated more than twenty years of service as a press line factory worker at Palm Beach before retiring to spend her days doing what she loved most-being with her family. She found joy in gardening, cooking, fishing, bird watching, rabbit hunting, and listening to her three daughters sing gospel music. She faithfully worshiped Jesus by singing along with the Happy Travelers, was known for making the best homemade chicken and dumplings around, and never hesitated to share her opinion with anyone willing to listen (and even those who were not). Above all else, Mae was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished Granny, and proud great-grandmother whose greatest happiness came from time spent with her family.

She is survived by her three daughters, Janet Randall, Paula Russell (David Dick), and Angela Cress (James Cress).

She also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved grandchildren: Tosha Ellis (Ryan), Candice Simpson (Murdock), Leah Kean (Josh Tolar), Stewart Russell (Kristyn), Jessica Kean (Nathan), Stephanie Randall, Immanuel Sanchez, and Stefan Cress.

Mae was blessed with twenty-one great-grandchildren: Aria, Aurora, Jace, Blake, Alysa, Riyle, Lincoln, Elena, Bailey, Porter, Bentley, Colton, Noah, Oaklee, Elijah, Mara, Carter, Haisley, Jameson, Jonah, and Wyatt.

She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, as well as two special women she loved as granddaughters, Chelsea Blasingim and Felicia Smith.

In addition to her husband, Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Lema Hoseclaw; her maternal grandparents, the Blevins family; her paternal grandparents, the Hoseclaw family; her brothers, Marshall, Melvin, Maynard, Marvin, and Roger Hoseclaw; and her beloved grandson, Michael Kean.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mae's life at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home on Saturday, August 8, 2026. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., public visitation at 11:00 a.m., and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Though her family will deeply miss her voice, her laughter, and the love she poured into every meal and every gathering, they find comfort knowing she is now rejoicing with her Savior and reunited with those who have gone before her. Mae's legacy of faith, strength, and unconditional love will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
